Born into a family of painter decorators in Preston, Park
began to paint full time in 1897. He studied at Julius
Olsson's school in St. Ives between 1902 and 1904 and
then in Paris. He subsequently returned to St. Ives in
1906, settling there more permanently in 1923.
Inspired by the Impressionists he produced brilliantly coloured views of the coast and harbours around St. Ives.
These works were produced on a large scale for exhibitions and at more modest size to meet the demands of the tourist market.
